Lithography Pencil on Paper, 22" x 30" 300lb HP Fabriano
Today there is a -20 windchill whistling through our neighborhood and I am debating how many layers I will wear when I finally boot myself outside for a run. I need to run, it returns me to a state of normal. ie. clear head and a cheerful disposition. :) This morning, after brewing a fresh pot of espresso, I sat down for a few hours of working on this drawing and listening to Leonard Cohen. It helped a great deal to leave this drawing overnight and to have a fresh look this morning, only then could I see there were areas I would need to shade darker. I then made the addition of some small and larger dots and some wildlife. Ha! You'll have to look for those, let me know if you find any.
Note, in this drawing I am using lithography pencils, which I ordered just before Christmas. All I can say is, what took me so long ?... I first learned to use litho pencils in 1991 while in art college and now twenty years later I am very thrilled to be working with them once again. I may work some color into some of my later litho pencil drawings, but for now I am satisfied with the results I am getting from working with black and white.
Gosh I am truely rusty at writing, I barely know what to say. Perhaps I should ease myself into it again, bit by bit like with drawing I will build my skills. Well I'm off for my daily run, hoping for no shin splints today. :)
